My encounter with calligraphy began in childhood.​

At the time, I thought of it simply as one of

the activities I was learning.

Yet holding a brush, touching ink,

and spending time with words already held

a special meaning for me.

No matter how much time passed,

the joy of writing never disappeared.​

When I was given the opportunity

to inscribe goshuin,

my unwavering devotion to calligraphy

became firmly established.

​

Many people from overseas also came to visit the shrine.​

Seeing this firsthand allowed me to experience

how widely the beauty and splendor of

Japanese traditional culture are recognized.​

This, too, had a profound influence on me.

​

The joy of writing led me to the beauty

of the Japanese language

and the richness of traditional culture.​

From there, it expanded into a prayer

for universal peace, love, and a world in harmony.

​

The name Nagiho was born from my lived sense

of being within the workings of nature.

​

Nagi evokes the calm stillness

of a peaceful water’s surface.

Ho evokes the richness of an abundant harvest.

​

My wish to create under this name is now taking form.
